Texas officials discontinue AMBER Alert, 7-month-old Ozana Cisneros still missing

The Texas Department of Public Safety discontinued an AMBER Alert Monday for 7-month-old Ozana Cisneros, following the discovery of skeletal remains in a wooded area at San Antonio’s Concepcion Park.

According to DPS, the remains have not been identified as Ozana, who has not been seen since last month. It’s still unclear whether the remains are from a “human or if it is even indeed related to this case,” officials said.

DPS cited a lack leads for canceling the alert, but will continue to search for the missing infant.

“The Amber Alert was discontinued, but 7-month-old Ozana Cisneros remains actively missing. The alert has not produced any leads, and SAPD continues to investigate,” DPS, who remains the lead investigation in the case, stated.

As Criminal Enterprise reported, Ozana was last seen June 10 at around 6 p.m., in the 330 block of a Roosevelt Avenue residence, near Lowell Street in San Antonio.

On Friday, according to KSAT News, police located the child’s mother, 19-year-old Maximina Cisneros, at a home off of Parkview Drive.

She was taken to an area hospital in “stable condition,” although the reason for medical attention has not been shared.

KENS 5 described the Parkview residence as a “vacant structure” around a mile from where Ozana was last seen.

Meanwhile, police arrested Isaiah Marquis Lopez, 24, in connection with a June 9 shooting at the Parkview Drive residence. Although no one was injured, law enforcement said the incident is related to the missing infant case but declined to explain the connection.

WOAI described Lopez as Cisneros’ boyfriend.

Lopez had been squatting at the Parkview Drive residence, meaning he had been illegally occupying the vacate home. He’s currently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Meanwhile, the search continues for Ozana continues.

Neighbors near the vacant home reported seeing Cisneros with Ozana for around two weeks, followed by another two weeks without the infant.

“Now it’s just very, very alarming as to where baby Ozana is. It is just frightening to think what has happened to this baby,” Pam Allen, founder of the nonprofit Eagle’s Flight San Antonio, told KENS 5.

A prayer vigil is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m., at Concepcion Park.

“Prayer is what unites us,” Allen stated. “We’ll be coming together to pray for a favorable outcome for baby Ozana and for the family that’s going through such turmoil.”

Ozana is described as standing 2 feet tall, weighing around 20 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes
