Grandmother demand answers, AMBER Alert canceled as search continues for 7-month-old Texas infant

A Texas grandmother is asking officials to reinstate an AMBER Alert for a 7-month-old San Antonio baby who has not been seen in over a month.

According to News4SA, Christy Rodriguez, the paternal grandmother of Ozana Cisneros, believes that the AMBER Alert issued July 9 for should have stayed in effect.

The Texas Department of Public Safety canceled the alert July 13 for procedural reasons and lack of leads, while emphasizing the search continues for the infant.

“I believe the AMBER Alert should stay active,” she said. “I just want to have faith in the Lord that she’s somewhere out there. I would want to know where she was this whole time and if she’s healthy, if she’s OK, and as long as she’s breathing.”

As Criminal Enterprise reported, Ozana was last seen June 10 at around 6 p.m., in the 330 block of a Roosevelt Avenue residence, near Lowell Street.

On July 11, police located the child’s mother, 19-year-old Maximina Cisneros, injured inside a home off of Parkview Drive.

Cisneros was taken to an area hospital in “stable condition,” although the reason for medical attention has not been shared.

Police then arrested Isaiah Marquis Lopez, 24, in connection with a June 9 shooting at the Parkview Drive residence. Although no one was injured, law enforcement said the incident is related to the missing infant case but declined to explain the connection.

WOAI described Lopez as Cisneros’ boyfriend.

Lopez had been squatting at the Parkview Drive residence, meaning he had been illegally occupying the vacate home. He’s currently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Meanwhile, neighbors near the vacant home reported seeing Cisneros with Ozana for around two weeks, followed by another two weeks without the infant.

On July 10, investigators found skeletal remains in a nearby wooded area at San Antonio’s Concepcion Park.

According to DPS, the remains have not been identified as Ozana, It’s still unclear whether the remains are from a “human or if it is even indeed related to this case,” officials said.

Results from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office will likely take several more weeks.

Ozana is described as standing 2 feet tall, weighing around 20 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes
