Police in Arkansas are searching for a 20-year-old Dardanelle woman and her newborn, believed to be in extreme danger following a suicidal ideation call.
According to the Dardanelle Police Department, Ashlynn Bocksnick left her home at around 2:30 a.m. June 26, with her 6-week-old Lalynn Dream Wilson.
Police responded to a suicidal report at the Dardanelle home, but Bocksnick had already fled in a vehicle. At around 4:40 a.m., police recovered the abandoned car at the Veteran’s Memorial Riverfront Park’s boat ramp.
Police said security footage captured the vehicle arriving at the boat ramp at some point between 2:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Footage then showed Bocksnick walking toward the water, but it’s unclear if she had the infant with her.
“It shows her park her vehicle around 2-30 hours, get out of the vehicle. Go to the passenger rear side in what appears to grab an item or child out of the back of the vehicle, and then walk towards the water line,” Dardenelle Police Patrol Officer Austin Williamson said.
“It does not show whether or not she goes into the water, it doesn’t show whether she goes left or right. The camera goes off and it’s too dark, too digital to tell anything else.”
KATV reports that an incoming storm in the area temporarily paused the search Thursday, which could potentially raise the river level “by 3-4 feet.”
Numerous agencies, including Dardanelle police, Yell County Mounted Patrol, Yell County Sheriff’s Office, and Arkansas Game and Fish will continues search efforts.
“We need to find her and we’re gonna find her, we’re going to find you Ashlynn,” loved ones reportedly said.
“Ashlynn, she was very happy when her baby, Lalynn, came along. It was like her dream, that’s why she named her Lalynn Dream.”
Bocksnick is described as a white female with long brown hair. She was last seen in pink sweater and a black shirt. Lalynn is described as weighing around eight pounds.
