Missing 21-year-old Georgia woman found safe after vanishing in state park

A 21-year-old woman reported missing after going to a Georgia state park was found in Atlanta on September 4, according to police.

No additional information is available at this time.

Initial Coverage

Police in Georgia are searching for a 21-year-old woman who vanished Wednesday night at Fort Yargo State Park.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources reportedly stated that Erica Gibson was visiting the park when she disappeared at around 7:30 p.m.

FOX 5 Atlanta reports that officials closed the park Thursday while the search continues.

Dive teams, Windsor police officers and game wardens were at the scene Thursday morning. According to Atlanta’s News First, searchers are scouring a lake at the park with a side-scan sonar.

Williams is described as a Black female who stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs around 132 pounds. She was last seen in blue jean shorts and a green/gray shirt.
