Police in California say that a missing girl’s mother has been found dead and the accused killer is at large, allegedly with the child.
The unidentified mother’s body was found inside a Los Angeles home, in the the 2600 block of South Alsace Avenue, LAPD stated in a news release.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Daleza Fregoso, 5, was last seen May 24 near Alsace Avenue and Ferndale Street in Los Angeles, at around 4 a.m.
Authorities believe she in the company of her father, Ruben Fregoso, 40.
“The victim’s husband, Ruben Fregoso, has been identified as a person of interest in the investigation. Fregoso and the victim’s five-year-old daughter, Daleyza Fregoso, are currently missing,” LAPD stated.
Investigators have learned that Fregoso made statements indicating he intended to flee the country,” police said.
Fregoso fled in a a white 2019 Land Rover Discovery with California license plate 9DAW715, which has since been recovered, CHP stated.

Daleza is described as standing 3 feet tall and weighing around 45 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
Fregoso is described as standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
