Amy Hillyard: Reward doubles to $25K, popular California coffee shop missing nearly two months

The family of missing California mother Amy Hillyard is offering a $25,000 reward, as the search for the Oakland coffee shop owner continues.

According to BringAmyHome.com, the family is offering the reward in exchange for credible leads that result in the 52-year-old’s safe return.

“We truly believe someone out there has information that can help bring Amy home,” her husband, Chris Hillyard, posted on the site.

“We hope this increased reward helps prompt that one call, that one tip, that gets someone to come forward with information.”

Chris and Amy Hillyward own Farley’s East coffee shop in Oakland and Farley’s coffee shop in San Francisco. She’s also the mother of two daughters, both in college.

The San Fransisco Chronicle reports that Amy Hillyard had breakfast with her husband on March 25, at their Oakland home, in the 500 block of Radnor Road, before he dropped her off at the at a BART station. She had plans to a attend a therapy session in Walnut Creek.

Chris stated that his wife had been having depression and anxiety issues at the time of her disappearance.

At around 1:40 p.m. that day, she sent her husband a text message, informing him she was home from the session. Neighbors reported seeing her walking her dog in the couple’s Cleveland Heights neighborhood.

Chris Hillyard returned home March 25 at around 3:15 p.m., and found Amy’s keys, phone, wallet and handbag sitting on a kitchen counter. Her credit card statement showed a payment to BART, for trips to and from Walnut Creek.

NewsNation reports that Chris Hillyard saw the back door open and the dog “out of its crate.”

At around 4:30 p.m. that day, security footage captured at her at the Dimond Canyon and hiking trails, at Dimond Park, according to Oakland police.

Despite an exhaustive search at the park, police and volunteers were unable to locate her.

“At this time, there is no evidence to suggest foul play,” OPD said in a statement. “At present, there is no evidence of abduction, kidnapping, or any other crime associated with her disappearance.”

Amy Hillyard is described as a white female who stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She has blonde hair, hazel eyes, and was last seen tan pants and a tan top.
